Porcelain Worktops
Porcelain (also called sintered stone) worktops are made by fusing natural minerals together at extremely high temperatures, creating an ultra-hard, dense surface that behaves more like industrial ceramics than traditional stone. A high-definition pattern is then printed onto the surface, which is how you get such convincing marble veining, concrete looks, metal effects and softer textile-style finishes.
Because the surface is non-porous and highly resistant to heat, stains and UV, it shrugs off most everyday spills and won’t fade in sunlight, making it a strong choice for busy kitchens and even outdoor spaces. Day-to-day care is easy: a wipe with warm soapy water is usually enough, with no sealing required; just avoid heavy impacts on edges and use chopping boards and trivets to keep it looking sharp for the long term
